I used this for connecting a thumb drive to a Kenwood car stereo usb port. I have not had any problems with it in the past 6 months.
ITS PERFECT FOR MY NEEDS , JUST A SHORT DISTANCE FROM MY COMPUTER IS ALL I NEEDED & IT WORKS.
The clincher for the sale was the included "cable extender" for the drive which attaches to the thumb drive and facilitates the plug-in process for the thumb drive to the rear USB port of my Dell laptop. This unit solved that problem. The "jump" or "thumb" drive was as advertised. I have encountered problems with several designs of thumb drives because the two USB ports are too close together (bad design, Dell) to accommodate both a wireless mouse antenna (most manufacturers) and direct connection of a thumb drive without using a "USB cable extender".
